Our five-week program will introduce you to the concepts of a healthy lifestyle.The importance of eating healthy and organic foods, drinking pure water and exercise will be reviewed. Information and scientific support of the need for essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals will be discussed.

You will be given a basic overview of the Eastern philosophies of Yoga and Ayurveda. Participants will learn simple, yet highly effective, meditation techniques for cultivating stillness and joyful living.

EACH WEEK OF THE 5-WEEK PROGRAM FOCUSES ON A DIFFERENT ASPECT OF CULTIVATING STILLNESS AND JOYFUL LIVING.

Your Instructor

Dr. Steven Herr practices integrative medicine which is a science-based, healing-oriented approach that takes account of the whole person (body, mind and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. Its emphasis is on patient/doctor consultation as well as the use of all appropriate therapies that demonstrate good, and verifiable, patient outcomes.

Week 1: Developing a Healthy Lifestyle

This week introduces the concept that we are programmed by our life events, and these beliefs often lead to a misunderstanding and confusion that manifests as stress and illness. We will review the reasons for this and present meditative tools to assist in improving ones outlook. These meditative tools help to relieve life-stressors and have been shown to alleviate depression, anxiety, and other mental issues.

Week 2: What Our Diet Lacks & the Importance of Daily Multinutrient

This week introduces the concept of Big Food and how our food fails to supply necessary nutrients. The common drugs that deplete the body of nutrients will be explored. We will discuss Telomeres and how a daily multi-nutrient can increase your lifespan by ten years. We will further develop the understanding of life’s adventure and the meditative tools which help relieve life-stressors and have been shown to alleviate depression, anxiety, and other mental issues.

Week 3: Importance of Vitamin D

This week introduces the importance of Vitamin D, it’s physiology and how to find the appropriate dose. We will review the many health issues that arise from low Vitamin D which include osteoporosis, cancer, hypertension, heart disease, depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. We will further develop the understanding of life’s adventure and the meditative tools which help relieve lifestressors and have been shown to alleviate depression, anxiety, and other mental issues.

Week 4: Importance of Anti-oxidants

This week introduces the concept of oxidative stress and how our hectic lifestyle contributes to accelerated aging. We will review the General Adaption Syndrome and what issues in our lifestyle contribute to oxidative stress. We will discuss the role of anti-oxidants such as Vitamin C and glutathione.
